What does a bill like PIPA/SOPA mean to our shareable world? At the TED offices, Clay Shirky delivers a proper manifesto — a call to defend our freedom to create, discuss, link and share, rather than passively consume. (Recorded at the TED offices, January 2012, in New York. Duration: 13:59)

ReplyDeleteI think this is wrong that the government is tapping into our internet to see all that were doing. It is a violation of privacy.

ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt the WHOLE Internet would be blocked just for copyright. On YouTube, there are LOTS of videos with copyrighted content that haven't been removed. People haven't even gotten in trouble for it. The SOPA and PIPA are very ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteBrandon, the legislation hasn't passed yet... That free media will go away if it does.

ReplyDeleteI think it's just another way for big bussiness to make alot more money because every website have copyright on it and if a kid draws dora on there cake thats not copy right. It's just them wanting that but if the goverment have a promblem with it than they might as well band all website.Just because they have a bill for it dont mean that people are gone stop copy write because they still do it with movies and cd and ect.so there no point in trying to make a bill for it.
ReplyDeleteThis video shows how problem can be added if the internet websites were to be canceled. Just buy copying a kids drawling shouldnt be a big deal because they just probably want money. It not like they are doing so much to the kid or their business. if a kid puts it up it so that many can aknowledge his or her work.
ReplyDeleteI completly disagree I believe that this is a vioalation of privacy.
ReplyDeleteThe government should not be able to this and it is wrong.
i totally disagree because i feel like its another way that websites can make money and its a huge voioalations on privacy and its wrong. Therefore i believe that irt could really cause major problems. & thats why i disagree.
